PRAY FOR THEM
-
These
children are hurting deeply and they need
prayer. The adults in their lives need
prayer as well. Pray for their
families, foster families and social worker.

Organize an evening prayer vigil
at your church for the children in
foster care and in orphanages overseas.

2.
SPEAK UP
- Make
sure those around you are aware of this great
need! Share your heart with friends, family and church
families so that they too will realize the huge
need to care for these children.
- Become a court
appointed special advocate for a child in
foster care. Visit

3.
PROVIDE FOR THEIR NEEDS
- Give sacrificially to
local orphan care ministries and orphanages
overseas.
- Donate supplies
(i.e. laundry baskets, detergent, etc.) or
money for Independent Living Program baskets to help
the emancipated foster youth.
- Organize a drive
in your church to collect school supplies
for children in foster care or shoes for
orphans overseas. Visit

4. SUPPORT THOSE WHO SUPPORT THEM
- Wrap yourselves around
families you know and in your churches that have
adopted or are fostering. Mow, baby sit,
provide a meal, drive car pool...anything that
gives them a break or makes parenting easier.
- Host "baby showers" for families adopting no
matter the age of the child.
- Pray with
them and tell them you appreciate what they do.

5.
PROTECT THEM FROM HARM
- Become a foster parent or
emergency foster parent.
- Raise
money to build a children's home to help remove
children from the streets. Visit

6.
VISIT THEM WHERE THEY ARE
- Take dinner to a foster
group-home on a regular basis.
|
7.
GIVE SACRIFICIALLY TO THEM
- Support reputable orphan
care organizations on a regular basis.
- Contribute generously to an adoptive family to
help offset their costs.

8.
ENCOURAGE THEM TO PRESS ON
- Sponsor a child, support
them financially, and encourage them through
your letters. Visit

- Become a mentor or tutor to
a teenager in a foster group-home

9.
ADOPT
- Give a
child a home through international, domestic, or
foster care adoption.
- Adopt a young adult
who has aged out the of the system, but still
desperately needs the love of a family.

10. MOBILIZE YOUR CHURCH FOR THEM
- Be a catalyst in your
church for starting a sustained orphans
